ok so this is bugging me cause i can't figure it out and i've been pondering it since the new site started.

1; what do the stars represent under/beside our names, i'm assuming it's to do with post count yeah?

2; how do you change what is written under/beside our name? eg, mine says biker but i've noticed so people have written their own little thing in there.

Here you can assign yourself a custom user title which will overwrite the one based on your display group.
Default User Title:
Biker
New Custom User Title: (leave blank to use existing)

the stars don't seem to match up to ones post count as some people with only approx 20-30 seem to get 2 stars then others with arounf 500-600 get 3 stars then people with 1000-1500 also get 3 stars.

Most forums have this feature. It's nothing too mysterious.

There are different groups for all users, generally based on post counts for most normal users (n00b, junior biker, biker, etcetera). Each group has a different image, with differing numbers of stars - even pink if one was so inclined!
