airless spray guns

I have to repaint my 250 race bike and now my painter has been ruined by a woman I have been looking at spray painting options. I'm not really keen on buying a a compressor and gun and have seen some airless guns.

Has anybody had any experience with any of these painting a bike (good or bad) and if so can they recommend a brand or model?

My dad did some spraying and mainly does wood lacquering, but he said that airless are more for getting lots of spraying done in a small period with a compromise in quality and gravity fed guns provide the best results quality wise.

Don't know if this applies to paint though.
don't bother with them their shit they're like spay cans

I've used all types of spray equipement even the old static system.

Yeah air less system is great for massive areas like walls, houses, cranes or even buses. You can get a pretty good finish if you know what your doing.

As for bike stuff. Gravity feed is perfect for bike stuff.

Keep an eye out at Aldi (if there is one near you) - they had some alright smallish compressors for sale not long ago.

The airless ones are a bag of dicks though.
