Start with the right tools in the first place. Otherwise you're basically just shitting where you sleep, so to speak. You'll have to clean it up yourself. Which screws are you referring to? The float bowl screws or carb boot screws or what. Be specific..

If you cant get to the carby boot screws because their rounded do your best on the others then rip it out, replace the damaged boots afterwards.
Float bowl screws you can use impact driver cost probably only $25 - $50 for one or just use a correct fitting screwdriver and vice grips on the handle with pressure and turn.
If the screws start to strip then just use the vice grips to remove or extractors.

Attempted removing the carbs today as i'm on uni break. Got the tank off fine and the intake. Then got stuck.
I'm up to this

don't know what to remove next....?

any help would be grateful, cheers
you can remove those screw around the trumpets but you dont need to,

loosen the screws on the rubber clamps like motthomas said, then try pull the carbs off, if they wont come try using a bit of wood as a lever

poke it through that small oval shaped hole in the frame and lever it against the carbs, make sure you only have it against the metal of the carbs tho so you dont brake anything

No, they're on the side. Get a torch and look at where the carbs join onto the motor, you'll see the clamps.

are the screws where the arrows are

i think i saw those but thought i had to remove the black plastic section to get to them...
No. Those are the balancing screws. Don't go near them. The screws I'm talking about are accessed through the holes in the frame. One from the right side and 3 from the left side. A long screwdriver is best and makes life a whole lot easier for what you spend on it!

Got it sorted guys, thank you all for your input.

Anyway ill throw up some pics.
Big thanks to xcite for hooking me up with carb repair kits in under an hour. great guy.

So i pulled off the side fairings, tank then air intake and was left with this

This was probably the hardest part, removing the carbs off the engine. Fuck those boots

Finally got them off with some help from the old man.
But ended up damaging the boots and clamps so i'll have so source them soon.

First one

Didn't think to take any photos between that^ and finishing. Pulled apart both sides and gave them a good spraying with carb cleaner and dried with the air compressor.
Done

I got 4 carb repair kits off xcite incase things were damaged/worn etc. I ended up just replacing the main, slow jets and the large seal instead of reusing the old ones and kept the originals. The kits didnt come with the tiny rubber o-rings for the pilot screw so had to reuse the old ones but luckly they were in good shape.
It went pilot screw+spring+washer+rubber oring. Did those 2 1/8 turns RR[R]

Unfortunately i screwed 2 of the pilots screws too tight and snapped a corner

Ended up just cleaning and re-using the originals.

Pulled apart my indicator switch as there was sometimes a delay from pressing the switch and the lights coming on. Gave that a good clean.

Now works a treat.
