Found the "Stinger" in a vid on youtube. awesome idea but they are in America.

The tray on my lux is too high to be any use for a motorbike, but a trailer that folds up and can be stuck into the tray is an awesome idea i reckon.

Any recommendations for an Aussie made one?

I give you the multifunctional easytrailer

www.easytrailer.com.au

Theses look good, you can change the top of them to double their functionality from motorbike towing, to dump run etc.

Yeah, little pricey for a few lengths of box section welded square, but design is worth it.

This too will be my trailer of choice when I get a..... working bike :p

I'm 95% through construction of a 6x4 easy trailer (only thing left to do is reinforce one of the c channels) and give them the thumbs up. Seen quite a few at track days and everyone's had good things to say.

Very neat... although for handling, the stinger looks a little unbalanced for a trailer. It will be weighing down the towbar and lifting the front of the car. Suspect the stringers wheels need to be a little more forward. Guess it wouldn't make a difference if being towed by a 2 tonne yank tank.
+1 US law doesn't do much with towbars but AUS law specifies that you're not allowed more than 70kg on the tow ball (I think they might have introduced a 110-130kg heavy duty rating now as well)...

When I was a kid I nearly found out the hard way how dangerous it was. The trailer was loaded front heavy. I was in the passenger seat. Driver turn right, but the front wheels just didn't have enough weight on them for the turn. The trailer steered the car into oncoming traffic, which really didn't go well given the traffic was pulling up at my door.

Bloody hell.... how much weight would you estimate was on the tow bar?

So no one has any concerns about doing 120km/h down the highway with those little wheel barrow tyres on the easy trailor :S

When I used to have to use a mates hilux before I got my xr6t we just used a scaffolding plank to get the bike in, it was a huge bitch and got some mad bend in it when we were running it up but it worked alright.

I'm amazed that a motorcyclist would be worried about the tyres on a trailer.... (which are 4 ply high pressure jobs rated for high speed by the way).

So is there a solution for a hilux? Im plannig on buying a friends hilux when he goes overseas and was looking at http://www.discountramps.com/motorcycle_ramp_page.htm Anyone used these before?

I usually take off the tailgate of the tray and lay it on its end and try push the bike up. Its usually pretty easy from my house because i live on a steep driveway but getting it out can be tricky.

I guess the whole thing just looks unstable to me :S
The 6x4 I have is rated to carry 700kgs, but the most I will ever make it carry is one bike. Capacity ratings have a pretty good safety margin built into them, so by loading up the trailer to less than half of the spec, you're safe as houses.

I put it together myself, though, so maybe safe as mud huts

which law are you talking about ??

my 2009 vehicle specs a tow of 3000kg and a ball weight of 300kg which gels with my fuzzy memory of 10% of tow capacity
