Very neat... although for handling, the stinger looks a little unbalanced for a trailer. It will be weighing down the towbar and lifting the front of the car. Suspect the stringers wheels need to be a little more forward. Guess it wouldn't make a difference if being towed by a 2 tonne yank tank.
+1 US law doesn't do much with towbars but AUS law specifies that you're not allowed more than 70kg on the tow ball (I think they might have introduced a 110-130kg heavy duty rating now as well)...
which law are you talking about ??

my 2009 vehicle specs a tow of 3000kg and a ball weight of 300kg which gels with my fuzzy memory of 10% of tow capacity
Weird, what "vehicle" is it? From memory its in the ADR for vehicle couplings. There may be more in the VSIs but its been about 4-5 years since I looked at it.

So is there a solution for a hilux? Im plannig on buying a friends hilux when he goes overseas and was looking at http://www.discountramps.com/motorcycle_ramp_page.htm Anyone used these before?

I usually take off the tailgate of the tray and lay it on its end and try push the bike up. Its usually pretty easy from my house because i live on a steep driveway but getting it out can be tricky.
ive got a hilux with a 2" lift kit and i can get the tard in no worries with a ramp less than 3m long, those things should be no worries
the only prob with my hilux is the height and getting it up there without too much drama.

So no one has any concerns about doing 120km/h down the highway with those little wheel barrow tyres on the easy trailor :S

When I used to have to use a mates hilux before I got my xr6t we just used a scaffolding plank to get the bike in, it was a huge bitch and got some mad bend in it when we were running it up but it worked alright.
Say no to speeding. 110 and you'll be fine

fuck those easytrailers look alright now i have another good look at them.

just wondering do you think the formply floor would be strong enough to bolt a kaneg trailermate to?

edit hmmm just read further and it seems that yes it is, since they have their own wheel lock mechanism and its bolted into the formply. haha

Cannot reccommend these enough...

I have an 8x4... reason for going the larger length is because I got the secured wheel locks which only work on the 8x4...

The secured wheel locks are awesome... u just roll your bike up on the trailer, and as soon as they roll into the wheel lock, the bike stands upright by itself so you can take your time at securing the bike properly... totally worth the money... I got 2 of them for when i need to transfer 2 bikes, and a standard wheel channel for on the occasion I need to transfer 3 dirties when I acually get one...

Also got the box kit which puts walls on the trailer in case i need to transfer shit...

All up, was a bit of $1000, but for what i got, the ability to use the trailer for diff occasions, and the fact that its folded and hiding behing my house in a corner for the last 9-12 months unnoticed is worth every penny...

This will stay with me till i die...

When i was at the island one day, I did notice that some dude had one, and he had put some sort of rails underneath the wood for all the screw points, so instead of the bolts screwing into the wood, it would screw into this rail... clever idea, and I will definitely look into it when i have the time...

Sounds like a good deal at $1000. Where'd you purchase it from? Direct?

Are the Kaneg Trailermate's thought to be a better design?

I've had an 8x4 easytrailer for about three years, have towed bikes(2x sportsbikes at a time), lumber, furniture, freezers, you name it. Never had an issue with it.

Tows really really well and sits on the road great with those skinny tyres. Folds up out of the way in the shed and doubles as a blackboard when not in use.

I'd go as far as to call it a "must-have".
