Hi guys, some of you might know me as the noob from the bike wont start thread.
Anyway, I want to clean my carbs but without having to take the whole cabrs out of the bike? Is there anyway to do so?

And drain the petrol out of the carbs?

Pictures would speak a thousand words for me thanks!

You will need to take the carburettors out of the bike to clean them properly, as cleaning involves taking them right apart. You start by disconnecting the throttle cable and fuel line, the next step is loosening the rubber mounting boots and removing the carbs from the engine.

I'm sure pics have been posted on another thread...anyone know where?

Have a read of that and see how you go.[hr]
Oh, and you can't without taking them out. They need to come right apart like boing says.

thanks for the replies guys, I will try this weekend. Looks bloody hard. I have read other posts and other people talk bout making sure do not damage the jets, balancing the floats or something else rather ... sounds and looks complicated... god help me!!

Is there an easier way to clean the carbs without having to take it out?
Or am I asking a stupid question..?

No, you have to take them out.

It's really not difficult at all. You just have to be careful not to mix pieces up, or break others.

Usually when the engine is running it makes the fuel drain down from the carbs into the combustion chamber which is then ignited and burned off as exhaust gases, You fuckwits really need to understand how an internal combustion engine works.

nooooooo..

it uses a vaccuum to atomise the fuel when then in turn mixes with the correct amount of air, which is then drawn in to the cylinder, compressed then ingnited by the spark plug.
