I believe the Jade is a rebadged Hornet 250, depending on the market they were sold in. I've seen one as a grey import here in Oz, and it was a dead ringer for a Hornet.
In which case, yes, the engines are largely the same, although obviously tuned differently. cbrpledge may be able to shed more light on the differences, as he recently rebuilt a Hornet engine and stuck it in a CBR chassis.
