just started riding the bike again, after a months suspension and noticed the lights arent working on low beam..

is this likely to be a wiring fault, or do the dual filament bulbs blow low beam then high beam? if that makes sense??

My guess would be the bulbs themselves, or the most common problem, the switchgear!

Check and clean your contacts in the LHS switchblock

so the low beam can blow before the high beam? i thought once the light blew, it blew? or is this different for dual filament bulbs?

Nop. The low beam filament can blow separately. Check the bulbs out, just don't touch the glass.

If that's not it then my next guess would be the switchgear contacts. Fun!

1+ just grab any H4 bulb and test it.

Had the same problem a few weeks back - it was the globes.

I constantly have this problem and its the contacts in the switch. Damp Irish weather doesnt help!

If you wiggle around the headlight switch a bit (the low beam/ full beam one) do your dims turn on at all? Even for just a split second? If they do its the contacts.
