Lost key......

hey yall,

Just came back from my holiday and I have no idea where my ONLY key to my bike is. I turn my room inside and out just before I left and no go and i will do another attempt tommorow but in case of the search becoming a negative.

Whats the go? I remembered someone ask before but I can't remember nor could I find that thread in the search function.

Do I need to take out the cartrdige or something and how do i do that? Or would I be able to get a mobile locksmith to come over and create a new key?

Sorry for the silly question but I am so bloody keen to hope back on the bike. It has been nearly a month since I took off.

I stole it.

Seriously tho, I had a mobile locky come out one day and it cost like $100
Sure it's not in the bike / the seat lock? :p

I've hulked out cos I couldn't find the key then found it in the ignition.
....if you haven't got the steering lock on it's actually pretty simple to hotwire bikes - google is amazing =D

(what I was ABOUT to resort to when I lost my key, but then I found it =P)

EDIT: though to be helpful, I've heard you have to find a code on the actual ingition/thing-you-stick-the-key-into doodah, and take that to a locksmith and they can cut you a key just from that =)
maybe you can tell OP and he can look there as well...
Cheers guys,

i will look for the code on the thing when you shove the key in. Worst case, will get a locksmith to come out.

I am sure the key is somewhere in my room but I blame it on my housemates. The idiots tried to move it but they weren't sure how to move it and use a key but in reality all they had to do was pull the clutch in and push....DUH.

Its not on steering lock too. Didn't even know it existed on a bike. Me being retard and all.
hey all,

where is the number thing? Do I need to remove the barrell or somthing cause I can't see any number near the hole.

Or should I just get a mobile locksmith?

removing barrel is easiest............
not as easy as having a spare ready though =P
Well at least you still have the ignition barrell, joyriders left me with just a couple of wires. So if worst comes to worst you can pretty easily wire in a new ignition barrel
