Privyet Mayed !!

Download the parts book from the old forum... It has the part numbers of the MC14, MC17 and MC19, which should give you an indication or whether or not the CDI is the same.

Haha, Ive been here for more than 4 years (old username HauntedDawg).

But yeah, there is no other topics available that discuss this except this one.

So please guys, any input would be appreciated it. My bike has been standing for over 2 years now as I for one cant figure out if mc19 or mc22 cdi will fit. Have spoken to multiple people, 33% say it will fit, 33% say maybe, other 33% say no, other 1% didnt even bother.

Not sure, was told by an electrician.

Anyway, same electrician has phoned me this morning to say that the mc17 and mc19 will fit the mc14 as they are the same. The mc22 is different and requires the diodes to be changed. Not sure how, or not sure what he means.

A brand new amkt cbr250 mc17 cdi here in SA is R2380 which equals to 250 AUD. Quite pricey considering the ones on ebay are for mc19 and 22. However, those on ebay state mc19 and 22, but I have confirmed source that the 22 is different to the mc19 and therefor can not be used from an mc22 to the mc19 and below.

I hope this clears up anything.

That makes sense as the mc19 & mc22 crank trigger wheels are different so its only logical that the internals would be slightly different due to the slightly different logic needed to interpret the VR signal.
