Am definitely going to have to get me a carb balancing set....
Not a bad idea, opt for a manometer style gauge if possible, they are more accurate. There is a manometer style gauge that uses bars instead of actual liquid, which would be safer to use. I just did another carb sync today, this time on my vfr 400 NC21, and the inaccuracy of the vacuum gauges sure didn't help me do a good job.Am definitely going to have to get me a carb balancing set....
Restrictors /taps on each vacuum line help to stop the flutter of the needles I have ordered a set with the little taps that go in the lines. The good manometer ones ran mercury which is no longer allowed so the replacement fluid is not really mm/inches of Hg although it will give you a comparison between carbs it is slow to respond to adjustments.Just got done with a carb sync on my MC19, thought I should make a sort of how-to video for it. The previous guides on this website now have broken pictures, making them pretty much useless. Also, I don't know if this is the case for the MC22, but people were saying they needed to take the carbs off for the cylinders 3-4 adjustment, when I could just open the throttle all the way and be able to reach the screw. Bike idles better already, it always had a weird idle before this, almost sounds like a parallel twin. Hopefully I get better gas mileage now.
