I was just fitting the disc lock for the night and realised the bike is leaking fuel. Shit.

The fuel hose, petcock and tank itself are fine. The carburettor boots are soaked with fuel and there was a steady slow drip coming from the overflow lines. I've turned the fuel off at the tank and disconnected the fuel pumps electricity supply. For an overnight precaution I've syphoned the tank dry.

Any advice on what is causing this would be much appreciated, I'm supposed to be riding to see family on Saturday morning :s

Cheers everyone - boingk

Yeah, was thinking about doing a carb strip this weekend anyway. Looks like I'll be doing it away from home now as the bike doesn't seem to leak while riding. I got the thing for a case or two of beer and I've fixed most of its problems, but just thought I'd check and see if this was anything critical. You know, something bike specific that I wouldn't know about if I was looking at it haha.

Thanks mate - boingk

motthomas - Thinking along the lines of float heights myself, its been in the hands of two absolutely clueless fellows before me and has been dropped a few times. Guessing the floats may have taken a slight jarring, could even be partially stuck on an outsided gasket or something weird like that.

No worries on carb cleaning fellas, I've got a GS850 that had a full going over before I roadtested it. Pulls like a demon from 2,000rpm haha; complete opposite of the CBR.
