Shocks go in back, forks are in the front. NSR250 fork conversion is another option.
Hey guys,
My first post on the CBR250 forums. I have a MC22 babyblade and I had a unfortunate accident a few weeks back
Long story short but I am chasing up some options/replacement shocks for my bike. I have a serve dint in the bottom left casting of my bike. This is leaking fluid and i need to find a replacement option.
I have done some research and it looks like the vj22 rvg shock upside down is a option/upgrade for my MC22. Otherwise I am chasing down some replacement shocks.
What are my options and what prices are we looking at? I am located in Brisbane, Australia. Any hope would be great, thanks in advance.
Regards,
Adam
Benz Master is right. It would be a very rare case where modifying would be cheaper than a straight replacement. You can't just consider the forks and triples which would probably be an equivalent cost to a used set of 250 forks. You would also need to change everthing that bolts onto the forks. i.e. brake calipers, brake lines, mudguard, wheel, brake disks, axle & spacers, clipons and possibly master cylinder. All that stuff will likely double the cost of getting a spare set of forks to replace your crashed set.
It can be done, no doubt about that. Zane, Bluevitz, Benz Master and myself have all swapped modern USD front ends onto our mc22s. But it definitely isn't the cheap option to get a bike back on the road...
