i was thinking that after my little crash a few weeks ago, that i should try and turn the bike into a streetfighter.I found out that if i traded the bike in i would only get 2k even with the brand new forks and rear tire, so i was thinking why not convert it. Does anyone know of anyone who has done this before? or if would even be a good idea?

not sure what you mean by street bike,
like this?
sorry i edited the post i mean a streetfighter
Look up the net for streetfighter ideas and do it up yourself !... and dont forget to paint it yellow
mate it's been done before and they actually are a very good canvas to work with.....any bike is really.

"streetfighters" are interpreted through the creators eyes, creation is only limited by imagination.

go for it dude, there are SO many advantages with streetfighters over full faired bikes, much less things to damage if you happen to drop it, comfortable ride position if you opt for the "streetfighter" style bars.

then at the end of the day you'll have a unique bike that you've built yourself giving you a sense of satisfaction and achievement.

You can do it, street fighter your bike.
Ive been tossing up whether i should street fighter mine but i have already forked out $500 odd dollars for all new un-painted fairings but dam street fighters are soooooo f-ing sexy.
Does anyone have any idea if you can just drill and bolt up the dirt bike bar mounts to the triples or where you can buy new triple clamps with the dirtbike clamps fabricated on there?

heres some ideas for ya

if your gonna actualy street fighter it, for the love of god don't just take the fairings off and then call it a custom bike... its just a bike missing parts.

I'd put on taller handlebars atleast... but cleaning it and repairing all damage is a must... by that I mean scrubbing the engine back and repairing the damage on the engine covers... and painting the exhaust or going stainless system.
Remember flat bars means longer brake lines and clutch cable. And depending on how you do it extending the wires to the switchgear.

How much damage do you have to your bike snake? If its just fairing and light damage it would probably be cheaper to get a fairing kit or plastic repair the damaged fairings and get a custom paint job
