(Melb) Bike blitz in Camberwell

Hey all, just a quick one to let you know that the cops are out in force today in the Camberwell junction area. I was sunning and stroking myself in the park near the junction and I saw police in raver type jackets pull over 3 bikes and go over them. Not sure what they were checking but I think RW crap. Not one car was pulled over in over 40 or so minutes. Heading back to work I saw about 15 cops all milling around in rave attire.
I shall sneak out the back way after work as I don't feel like going to the EPA for my exhaust to be tested.:dodgy:

lol
it had better big a huuuuuuuge detour
they'll still hear that freakin pipe and come find you
true, i might shove a hampster up there to quieten it
I think koiom was talking about the MRD on your bike.
I'm sure they will move somewhere else during the day. So pick your detour well - you might just be riding straight towards them.

Thanks for the heads up. One of my friends got done for noise with a standard muffler on a R6 - the cops didn't believe it was quiet enough!

Was he giving it he berries? I had a quick read on this today and it seems that for the muffler itself to be legal it has to make less than x dB at a given RPM, however if a vehicle makes more than another dB limit then it's illegal, regardless of what it does at that set RPM limit, if that makes sense?

Definately not saying that's how it is for sure, just something I read today.

I don't think that applies anywhere in this country mate, only test I've ever heard of is stationary and at a published RPM figure.

Justin.
id be fighting that one for sure.

Hmm I could definitely be wrong.

I think you're probably talking about the drive by noise test, which is done during initial compliancing, but I don't believe is ever re-tested anywhere (too difficult and expensive).

Justin.
I've got the GYTR Muffler and lane filter right next to police cars at traffic lights - even give them a nood time to time. The GYTR is heaps louder.

I bet it's just a police officer that doesn't like riders in general. I mean STD muffler. Now he has to pay to get it tested - and take the time off to do it.

The driveby noise test is an alternative to the stationary noise test. The stationary noise test is an EN/ECE test, whereas the drive by is/was an ADR one, although I'm pretty sure if you comply with either you're good, although they may have phased out the drive by.
Forgot to mention when I popped back outside to see if the Hard Kandy cops were still there: I saw the bike that makes sap come out of my tail - Limited edition blue and white Daytona 675 - purrrr along down Camberwell road with a teeny little chick riding it.

That's my story, short as it is, it just made my day. Something about seeing a hot bike being ridden by a chick. Her head hidden behind that sheathy, kevlar vail, just adds to the theatre and pondering about what she may look like.

Of course, it could have been a dude riding the bike and if that was the case then I retract my soft porn theory.
