Anyone see the on-board footage using the gyroscopic cameras. They are really cool and gives such a better perspective of just how far the GP bikes lean.

Do you mean the small 'dial' on screen that shows lean angle?
A bit like the throttle/brake dial?
yeah, pretty cool.
No Juxt. I haven't seen it but from what I gather it's a camera that rolls to keep a flat plane when the bike leans (I think)

Fuck! That's mad!

That is indeed awesome. Sad (and a bit funny) to see he has to use a walking stick tho.
Very cool indeed. I hadn't seen that before.
oh, I get it now!
That is awesome. It seems to take the camera a split second to correct itself when he stands the bike upright after a turn (or flicks it from right to left). That gives us an idea of how fast the bike is actually going from side to side.
Now, how do I rig one up to the postie???
That's freaking insanely cool!

The walking stick makes him look like kind of a statesman :p Like someone to be respected just because he has war wounds

Huh? Lorenzo took a third place last year and he couldn't walk at all. He sat in a chair on the podium. Pretty much all of the greatest riders have spent time on crutches.

That camera is fantastic! It was really only a matter of time once they introduced HD cameras on the bikes...
Thats incredible, its hard to credit the electronics until you see that sort of thing, changing gears like that under full lean without any sort of movement, that sort of throttle application at that lean, its insane :D
He is just hanging off the bike, its incredible stuff from that perspective
That's just ridiculous...
Really emphasises the ridiculous leans/feats of balance and riding ability that these riders dish out, lap after lap.

And on that note, it occurred to me recently after watching some HD footage of all the bikes launching and barreling into the first turn that when 3D tv becomes commonplace, that sense of immersion will be incredible. Which lead me to realise that the best sports to watch in 3D will motorsports. Awesome!

I mean imagine what you've just seen in 3D!! It'll be mad.

holy crap, now that would be awesome, watching a belly camera video of a lap in 3d :headbang:
Only if you have a 10 foot 3D projector with 7.1 surround sound. That would be immersion and completely fucking awesome!

3D will be shite until the crappy 3D specs disappear. Until then it's just a gay fad.
when that happens, you will see me in my full bike gear, on my brothers old springy rocking horse, leaning side to side. 3D will be teh awesum.
Saw it last night whilst watching the qualifying. I was a bit mingin' at the time and I thought it was cool.
