Well just thought I might share with no body in particular, that I rode my first 1000 today and I'm in love!!

I've never been on anything bigger than my 250 and a mate let me take his 08 R1 out today.

All I can say is WOW...

I really can see the reason for all the hype on these bikes... So smooth and the power is literally at your fingers tips...

Couldnt' have wiped the smile off my face.

Cant wait to have a go on the new Fireblade... that will determine my next purchase..

Anyone had a go of both of these bikes with any input they might like to share??

I know a guy who in the space of 6 months had a ducati 996, GSXR1000, R1 and Blade. He said the blade is heaps better in terms of.. everything. Comfort, handling, power.. he said the blade shits all over the others...

I'm all up for the CBR1000RR 08+. I'm 170cm and I can sit on it comfortably.

I dont know what I'd buy, but now with your experience, can you see why spending a silly amount of cash on a 250 seems a bit of a waste :D

The 2010 CBR's are going for $14k atm... Plus I've always been a Honda fan. Theres a relly good youtube vid comparing the two for performance etc.

That was the only downside today, I could barely touch on tiptoes at the lights... lol

Go test ride every 1000 sports bike out there ;) Anything from Honda, Suzuki, Kwaka or Yamaha will be close in quality and extremely easy and cheap to get parts for :D

Not really cheap with all parts though but better than the European's. A stupid thin aluminum pipe about 1'' thick 25cm long was going to cost me $50 to replace and it was just a pipe for coolant to flow through.

Also you can adjust the height of the ride too so it ain't so high on most sports bikes I'm pretty sure. I'm only around 170cm and stock ZX10R is pretty good.

You can adjust the suspension but it's not going to be cheap.

Yeah, I meant cheaper than a BMW/Ducati etc.. And don't bother going genuine for any parts you can get aftermarket stuff for :)

I have a K9 and previously had a K6, the K9 shits all over the K6. Why would they go backwards?

cbr1000rr comfy? i dunno about that. forever gettin a sore ass from the 2ply under me
My lower back is what feels it after being on the bike for a while. Although I suppose hitting the twisties the day after deadlifts etc in the gym didn't help.

First time I did a half day ride on the thou I got off at a petrol stop and my body didn't appreciate being taken out of it's newly adopted basketball fucking position.
