Crap....what would happen if you did not retain the washer? There was none on my bike. What would be the downfall of not having it? Any idea what the part number is? :huh:

not alot man, might not seal _as_ well but the spring is still pushing the filter on so it will still work. I think every second bike is missing that washer from what I have read on here....

Well, the spring might damage the fliter?

The washer is there to distribute the force of the spring over the rubber inner of the oil filter when you tighten up the oil filter drain bolt.
