yep, thats why i do it, i was getting pretty lazy with it the normal way, so this makes it heaps easier for me anyway. for some reason its also easier for me to keep track what gear im in.

try it you can always change it back.

yeah on a mc22, and most older bikes, new ones im not so sure about.
hmm i cant seem to think of an easy way of explaining it, have a look at where you gear lever connects to the gearbox, i cant remember if the bolt sits above or below the actual selector thingy, either way swap it around, 2 minute job. just gotta make sure before you tighten it all back up that your gear lever wont foul on the rearset (this had me stumped for a few minutes), also you should check to see where you set it is gonna b confortable before you tighten everything up as this was also a pain in the ass doing it over and over again.

pretty shit description i know but just have a look you'll work it out once you see what im talking about ;)

hmm not sure about any extra stress on anything, why are you jumping on your gear lever anyway?
if your changing witout a clutch (which i hope you are if your giving it some stick) it only takes a little bit of pressure to click it down into the next gear.
i changed mine ages ago, i had never ridden a bike with reversed pattern, and i still havent fucked it up yet.

if its harder to change gear with it you need to look at why? it should be just as easy to have it one way or another.
oh and ive had ppl ride my bike, all of them have never used reverse pattern b4 and one of them i forgot to tell. and they never fucked it up at all.
i was always missing gears and struggling to find neutral, AND forgetting what gear im in. swapping to reversed seemd to fix all that for me anyway.
