yeah they are using them in world super bike and are apparently race only. slick on the shoulders of the tyre for max grip at full lean angle.

they report that the rosso II is a dual compound tyre where the 12.5% on each shoulder is the same compound in world supersport.

it may be that the HR is a single compound of the side shoulder all over the tyre. im going to ask one of the guys that can source it for e

Anyone here tried Dunlop "Unbeaten-02"'s ?

They seem to get good reviews from the 250Ninja/supermotard crowd. The organizer at my last track day sells them and offered me a sweet deal @ $240 a set. Hopefully a 150 will go on the MC19 with no issues.

Sounds like the DRC would be redundant then... Pretty sure the DRC has the superbike compound on the edges, so I don't think the Rosso II would be the same as that... Can't find anything on the HR though, you sure it's not just a H rated tyre?

Pirelli are pleased to announce the availability of new sizes in the popular Diablo Rosso II Hyper-sport Radial Tyre, specifically designed for 250cc sports motorcycles.
The new 110/70R-17 54H and 140/70R-17 66H sizes were used as control tyre in the 2011 European Junior Cup on Ninja 250 as part of the World Superbike Championship.
Available now in Australia, these new Diablo Rosso II sizes are perfect for 250 riders looking for a sporty radial tyre for their bikes, upgrading from the normal X-Ply construction available as standard on most models.
With Zero degree steel belt construction, Enhanced Patch Technology (EPT, for a larger contact patch) and a host of other WSBK derived technology just like big brother Rosso II ZR, these new tyres allow a greater level of sports riding performance for the 250 market.
These new sizes are ideal for Honda CBR250R and RR, Ninja 250, VTR250 and many more.
Three further sizes will arrive June 2012 to further increase the "HR" range - 120/70R-17, 150/60R-17 and 160/60R-17.
-------------------------

One year later it seems the HR's have only just become more available here in 'Straya.
Pirelli Rep yesterday told me I can get the HR or R DR2 choices but cannot supply me SC1 (in the correct 110 size).

Racing on it next weekend so I'll let you know how it goes compared to 003 and SC SC1. Ive been thru enough of the fuckers to be able to be objective.
(my 250's seem to use more fronts than rears)

150 tyre on 3.5" rim = Chicken strips & tearing.

Ninja 250 & MC19(can someone clarify MC19?) have 3.5" rim
Ninja 300, MC22, & MC41 have a 4.0" rim but even so best to stay with 140 tyre.

Works well, nicer shape.

140/70 BT003RS on MC41,
These were magic.

110/70 BT003RS front on MC41

these stuck like shit to a blanket but lacked feel and only last 3-4 track days at most.

Tyres are like which beer to drink/bike to buy/creature to root... just need to find what works for you.

Hey guys what tyres would you recommend for my 250. Mainly used for commuting purposes in Melbourne. 45kms a day is just used on the monash freeway. I would love to go for the performance tyres but I’m sure they would be wasted and the softer compounds wouldn’t last long since I’d mainly be using it for commuting. Currently running arrowstacks so I’m sure anything you guys suggest would be better than the crap I’m running.

Got Supercorsa SC1 on the 250, and love em! For commuting i'd have gone the Rosso IIs, confidence is key. I don't head out in the rain though and don't know how they'd perform...

i think the rosso 2's are a bit lacking in mileage... sport demons/bt45 are a good medium imo
