New tyres that haven't been squared off tip in very aggressively, I'd say that's what you're experiencing. I'd give it some time before you add any mods, flickability is something people generally like.
I was curious about the wages in Peru so googled. A mechanic in Peru gets ~US$200 a MONTH. After you've paid for fuel and rubber etc etc, that's a f'n expensive track day...
