Who will replace Rossi while he's out injured?

some food for thought:

http://www.crash.net/motogp/comments/160445/1/a/comment_who_should_replace_rossi_at_yamaha.html

Names that have been thrown around:

Troy Bayliss: would be awesome to see, but highly unlikely given his connection with rival manufacturer Ducati

Ben Spies: Tech 3 Yamaha satellite rider, a popular choice but due to the rookie rule may not be eligible

Colin Edwards: the other Tech 3 rider and former factory Yamaha rider, would be a good fit, tests well and gives good feedback

James Toseland: Yamaha's factory rider in WSBK and former Tech 4 rider in MotoGP

Cal Crutchlow: Yamaha's other factory rider in WSBK and reigning WSS champ

Garry McCoy: Rode for Yamaha back in the 500GP days, currently unemployed after splitting with the stillborn FB Corse project, aka Mr Squiggle, the popular aussie is still a cult favourite

Yuki Takahashi: Started last season riding a satellite RC212V before losing his ride due to funding/injury, currently rides for the Tech 3 Moto2 squad

Other: some Yamaha test rider or post up your pick.

can we get LEGZ on there?
I'm working on it :)

Was having a chat with JB and the crew the other day. They're all on vacation till Barcelona, contract stipulates they don't have to move anyone in for two races, but I reckon if anyone they'll put in Troy Bayliss or Colin Edwards. Spies is too inconsistent for them at the moment and can't give the HRC Development guys the data they need cos he's too young and not experienced enough...

So you're suggesting Spies is a snitch? :p

McGyver.

He is clearly the best choice
I doubt the FIM would approve of his M1 being modified with old chewing gum, the insides from an FM radio and piece of wood he carved with his swiss army knife. He'd win for sure, but then get disqualified.

Interview with Team Management & the Doctor
http://www.motogp.com/en/news/2010/yamaha+management+and+dr+buzzi+on+rossi+recovery

New rider on 4th July, will likely be announced next week. Valentino has 6 months recovery if you ask the doctor, 2 months if you ask the team manager

& an interview with Rossi
