Sounds normal to me??? maybe my bike is dying... Have a listen to some CBR250s on youtube.
It's my first bike so I can't be sure if it's normal but it never used to happen when I first got the bike. It's the sound you hear right after the exhaust sound. I'll check out some on YouTubedazz245 said:Sounds normal to me??? maybe my bike is dying... Have a listen to some CBR250s on youtube.
I checked the oil the other day. It was good. Oil is clean and at a good level.Blazzer said:that would be the sound of your engine. not the exhaust sound but the noise created by all the moving parts inside your motor. if it seems louder the what it normally is then check your oil.
how old is it?robbie said:You can't really hear it on this file. I'll try getting more audio. Sorry I used my phone to record it[hr]

I assume you mean the oil? I've only had the bike for a couple of months. The guy that I bought it from said he serviced it about a month before I bought it, but he had only riden it a couple of times. But I can't really go by what he says[hr]Chrissybenn said:how old is it?robbie said:You can't really hear it on this file. I'll try getting more audio. Sorry I used my phone to record it[hr]

It's not as thick as car engine oil. But not too sure what you mean by how does it feel? Bit for a noob to bikes. What should a good oil feel like?Blazzer said:how does the oil feel? clean oil doesn't always mean good oil
i like the sound of it too, but worried that something isnt as it should be and might cause bigger issues later on[hr]banana.logic said:I love that sound; sounds like you are riding a bike from the future
And yeah, also sounds normal to me too.
how do i go about finding out which one it is? any way to test them?[hr]CBRPOWER said:its either the noise of the pulse generator, stator or the straight cut gears spinning.
I put a photo in the original post. I circled the gap.CBRPOWER said:i believe the noise is normal, if its the straight cut gear primary gear (on the crank) it sounds normal, the same type of noise when a cars in reverse, it uses straight cut gears then.
that gap is some type of gasket/seal to stop exhaust leaks when the gas transferring from the port to header pipe.
could be a breather, photos would help.
Ohh sorry. I'll put some up tomorrow. It was getting dark when I was finishing up. I tried to take pics but they didn't turn out good[hr]CBRPOWER said:i meant photos of your silicon jobby.
I don't think it's a breather though. It has a thick hose, bit smaller than the radiator hose coming out of it. Don't remember where it went though. Will check it tomorrowCBRPOWER said:i believe the noise is normal, if its the straight cut gear primary gear (on the crank) it sounds normal, the same type of noise when a cars in reverse, it uses straight cut gears then.
