Rightio, after 5 years rolling around on my REs I emptied out the change jar the other week and went and got my licence upgraded. Then subsquently a new bike, a few people know about this machine already.

Putting my kwaka phobia aside to get what I think is abit of a cult bike and all mean looking.
So here she is one, 1999 ZX7R.

Piccys curiosity of Merudo.

is that bird shit on the windscreen? lol

i was thinking about getting a zx7r too, but i wanted something with fuel injection. was so sick of carbies after my vtr250. that and i heard these bikes were 200kg dry.
ya bunch of nit pickers

Yes that is some tape on the seat, so I'm going to get it re covered.

Yes that is some rusty collector, so I'm going to attack it with some angle grinder and paint soon.

No, thats not bird shit on the windscreen, it was an old sticker that is now gone. :)
dont let that bother you though, theyre a nice comfortable stable machine!

*waits for ontik to chime in*

That's not a header.
You already know how I feel about this bike.
A guy in my area has one in matte black and looks ratty. Yours is very refreshing compared to his.
nice bike...

cant wait to take it for a spin. glad you like the shots!
classic bike.
looks like a nice example.
congrats.
ignore the nitpickers!
noice!

always liked the zx7r, they're an ageless machine!
Sweet pics of a sweet machine.
Makes me wanna get my 7r back on the road.

Btw, while you have your pipes off for re-painting, just put another system on :D
They're relatively cheap these days as they're not so in vogue.

Haha, I need to save some more moola for that now Ive bought it and still have tyres to put on it.

Ultimately Id love to have a stainless full system with a high mount can on it. So guess the paint will do for now.

That being said first thing on the shopping list is some rearsets to just bring the pegs up and back a bit.
There are big gains by using aftermarket systems - i have a titanium akra system waiting to go on mine. The weight difference between stock system and aftermarket is staggering.
