" Hello ALL "
First off let me say hello to everyone as i've been reading on this forum for a while & gotta say this place is a great source for info on everything ! well done !
I have got a question about my clutch lever switch, not sure if working and how can i find out ?
and will also have some other probs with wiring as a previous owner has wired up an alternate start switch on the bike
( pain in the ass to use ) need to check and if possible re-build the starter/kill switch aswell as sort out the fuel pump wiring that runs with the key being switched on. But apart from hese probs bike in pretty good condition .

hey, welcome to the forums. anything can be fixed and rewired as you can see from your bikes current state. its just a matter of doing it right and clean. best to state your bike though. i have an mc17 myself, no fuel pump. but finding the original wiring for the fuel pump shouldnt be too hard. i would remove all the hack work and start from the original wiring again and instead of bypass stuff like the last owner, repair what needs to be fixed. and i believe, the fuel pump is supposed to run off the main ignition. could be wrong though.

Thanks for the welcome ! Sorry, thought the avatar of bike would've been explanatory.
It's an 88 MC19, Starts and runs but needs carbies cleaned, has original paint scheme still on it, and pretty much an un-touched bike except for the few things i've mentioned and minor scuffs & scratches.

nice! my bad lol i didnt even look at your avatar. good luck with the wiring, i wish i could help ya. im an electrician by trade and can tell you, its an eyes on project. meaning it will be tracing wires and seeing where they go. especially with a hacked system. if the original wiring connectors are still there it will be easier to repair but none of it is easy.

I have the same problem with my MC19. You can tell the switch is faulty by connecting a multimeter up to the 2 prongs (where it plugs in) and seeing if there's a circuit when you depress the clutch lever.

You could theoretically get around it by just wiring the two plugs in together, but you'd have to be careful not to start in it gear.

Cheers American,
Had a bit of a look, but then got hands dirty and went into the shed diggin thru the ol' parts box and did find one
right at the bottom. Already went & got adjustable levers for it.
Seems to be in good nick, I'll chuck it on & see if it's gunna work.
Btw, is that a pic of ur current bike ? looks like its well cared for !
